New year, new quarter: Which also means your next endocrinologist appoint is likely coming right around the corner. Inside this blog post, we’re breaking down three ways our clients inside of Keeping it 100 walk into every endocrinologist appointment with confidence so you can too.
#1: They have the data (and they’re not scared to talk about it)
PSA: You don’t have to be an endocrinologist to understand your blood sugar reports (and make intentional changes from it). Every single week, our Keeping it 100 members review their 30 day data, not as an indicator of progress, but instead to feel empowered by addressing patterns and deciding their next action step.
This also means that they are getting the information needed to support their endocrinologists in making effective insulin adjustments. They are going through basal rate tests, carb ratio assessments and tracking their insulin strategy so they can make changes based on true data.
#2: They know how to self assess their own data:
Nothing is a surprise for our clients. Since they are reflecting on their data often, they understand how to break down their own trends and patterns. They are able to assess whether their patterns are baseline (ie. basal rate, carb ratio or correction factor related) or behavioral. With this information, they can collaborate with their endocrinologist in making the most effective changes.
In this process, they are using the Keeping it 100 Diabetes Journal as a vehicle to pass on this information to their care team. There is only so much human behavior and additional variables that you can communicate inside an app like Dexcom Clarity, so the journal allows them to track external factors that would not otherwise be considered.
