I have conversations every week with women living with type one diabetes having the goal of starting their family in the near future but not having the space to talk about it. In their doctors office their told to simply lower their A1C, but we know there’s much more to it than that. Inside this episode, I sit down with Ariana Frayer from Cup of OJ as she discusses her current family planning journey. From coming off of hormonal birth control to switching to the Omnipod 5 and conversations with her doctors, we discuss it all.
Let’s catch up! These past six weeks have been wild ones. From getting married, traveling with unexpected flight delays and a lot of excitement and stress, it’s easy to assume my diabetes management took a hit. Would you be surprised to hear that I actually maintained a 74% time in range?

Regular checkups are an important part of caring for your diabetes for several reasons. The biggest reason is that things change over time, and your healthcare provider can help you adjust when they do. If you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, you’re at an increased risk of other serious health conditions, including heart and kidney disease and other autoimmune conditions so it is important to stay up-to-date with your health screenings.
